Faris menyampaikan bahwa langkah-langkah kecil seperti agenda memeriahkan Dies Natalis ke-7 Unusia ini sangat berarti. Menurutnya, langkah-langkah kecil pelan-pelan akan menjadi tradisi yang bisa dilestarikan, dijaga, dan dikembangkan.
“Sebagai sebuah kampus meski kita sedang belajar untuk berlari, langkah-langkah kecil seperti ini sangat berarti. Karena langkah kecil ini pelan-pelan akan menjadi tradisi yang bisa kita lestarikan, bisa kita jaga, bisa kita kembangkan,” ujar Faris.
Unusia Championship menjadi salah satu agenda besar dari Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) Unusia. Mereka bekerja sama dengan organ-organ Unusia lainnya dengan mengusung tema ‘Tumbuh Berilmu Berkembang untuk Masa Depan’.
Agenda Unusia Championship dalam rangka Dies Natalis Unusia baru pertama kali diadakan pada tahun ini. Sehingga, langkah yang mereka lakukan dikatakan belum termasuk menjaga tradisi, melainkan baru menciptakan tradisi.
“Apa yang dilakukan oleh teman-teman sekarang adalah belum menjaga tradisi, baru menciptakan tradisi (invention). Itu jauh lebih susah dibandingkan menemukan,” lanjut Faris.
Faris melihat panitia pelaksana mempunyai komitmen yang besar untuk menyukseskan agenda yang sudah dikonsep. Sehingga, inisiatif mereka menciptakan tradisi yang akan terus dikembangkan mendapat apresiasi dari pihak rektorat.
“Saya melihat teman-teman mempunyai komitmen bersama. Kami dari rektorat mengapresiasi betul inisiatif-inisiatif berarti seperti ini. Paling tidak temen-temen sekalian sudah mencoba untuk menciptakan tradisi ini, kita akan rawat bersama. Kita akan kembangkan,” tambahnya.
Unusia Championship kali ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan atlet-atlet di ruang lingkup internal. Harapan kedepannya, agenda ini dapat menjadi sejarah baru dan menjadi agenda rutin pada tahun berikutnya dengan ruang lingkup yang lebih luas.
“Skema lombanya taun ini kita masih ingin menumbuhkan atlet-atlet lokal. Kedepan kita akan kembangkan untuk membuka peluang dan upaya semaksimal mungkin agar bisa diikuti oleh teman-teman di luar Unusia baik tingkat SLTA/SMA maupun perguruan tinggi,” tegas Faris.
Hal itu juga menjadi harapan yang disampaikan Presiden Mahasiswa (Presma) BEM Unusia, Khabib al Fatach saat memberikan sambutan.
“Perwakilan dari Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, kami berharap semoga dari rangkaian kegiatan Dies Natalis Unusia ke-7 ini nantinya pada tahun kedepan bisa meriah dan ruang lingkupnya bukan hanya untuk internal Unusia, tapi bisa di ruang lingkup Jabodetabek ataupun nasional,” katanya.
Ketua panitia pelaksana Unusia Championship Dies Natalis ke-7 Unusia, Misbahul Awaludin melaporkan rangkaian kegiatan yang berlangsung pada 1 Mei hingga 19 Juni.
Berbagai bidang lomba akan memeriahkan serangkaian acara Dies Natalis ke-7 Unusia seperti Lomba Tiktok (1-20 Mei), Lomba Futsal (29 Mei), Turnamen Online Mobile Legends (4-6 Juni), Festival Seni Religi MTQ dan MQK (11-12 Juni), Kompetisi Debat Mahasiswa (4-18 Juni), Lomba Pencak Silat (18 Juni), Lomba LKBB se-Jabodetabek dan Jakbar Open (19 Juni).
