Aku ini si buruk rupa dengan topeng jelita. Topeng yang terkomposisi dari beberapa kepribadian yang menjadi kesukaan orang banyak. Seluruh manusia di bumi pasti memiliki topengnya masing-masing. Namun, punyaku menjadi lebih unik dari yang lain karena aku tidak hanya fokus pada keelokannya.

Setiap ukiran, gradasi warna dan detail lain benar-benar kuperhatikan. Banyak orang terkecoh, mengira itu wajah asli dari seorang aku. Tapi satu orang tahu betul bahwa sesuatu yang indah itu bukan rupa asli dari sang empunya badan. Manusia berbudi baik itu mengajakku berdansa walau seringkali ia injak kakiku, haha.

Perlahan, tanpa sadar aku dibuatnya nyaman. Berulang kali meyakinkan aku bahwa dia tak mencari apa yang semua orang cari dan aku semakin yakin bahwa dia memandang aku sebagaimana aku. Setiap kali berhadapan dengannya, aku tertawa dengan tawa paling tulus yang pernah aku berikan selama hidupku. Dan itu membuat topengku retak sedikit demi sedikit.

“Tidak apa, aku mencintai kamu bukan topengmu,” katanya ketika aku mulai menunjukkan gelagat takut sembari menahan topengku agar tak pecah.
