“Kegiatan Sciance Fair School OF Universe 2022 akan mengambil tema “Zero Waste Super Hero” semoga dalam tema super hero non limbah ini ,menjadikan cerminan kita dalam menjaga lingkungan Khususnya Limbah yang dapat kita pergunakan kembali serta dapat berdampak baik untuk kedepannya” jelasnya.
Pada tahun 2020 berdasarkan data dari Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) Indonesia menghasilkan sampah sebanyak 67,8 juta ton. 37,3% sampah berasal dari aktivitas rumah tangga dan 39,8% sampah berasal dari sisa makanan yang kita konsumsi. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kita menyumbang sampah terbanyak dari aktivitas kita sehari hari.
Zero Waste merupakan sebuah gerakan untuk menyelamatkan lingkungan dengan meminimalisir produksi sampah melalui penerapan 3R yaitu reuse, reduce, dan recycle.
Menerapkan gerakan 3R sebenarnya tidak terlalu sulit tetapi yang menjadi masalah adalah tidak ada kemauan untuk memulai. Sebagai contoh ada beberapa kegiatan yang sangat sederhana dan mudah untuk menjadi langkah awal kita menuju zero waste yaitu :
1) Mengganti tisu dengan kain lap atau sapu tangan
2) Menggunakan tas belanja sendiri ketika berbelanja ke supermarket
3) Membawa wadah makanan sendiri ketika membeli makan take away
4) Memakai clodi untuk bayi sebagai pengganti popok sekali pakai.
